Vermilion Dam Lodge

We had a great stay at Vermilion Dam Lodge. The place is peaceful and serene, and we were pleasantly surprised by how updated the cabins are while still keeping that classic up north theme. Everything we needed was there when we arrived, which made it really easy to settle in and relax. They have a really streamlined system for launching your boat and storing your trailer, which made things simple. The docks are handicap-friendly, and many of the cabins are as well, which is great to see. We also enjoyed the newly updated pool and the sauna after being out on the water. One thing we really appreciated was that once we got there, we weren’t nickel-and-dimed every time we turned around or wanted to do something. It made the whole trip feel much more relaxing. We had a wonderful family vacation at VDL last week! There were 10 of us (six adults and four children (9, 6, 5 and 2 1/2). We all stayed in Aerie. We had such a blast there. Tons of room for all of us. We enjoyed the two kitchen areas, the huge yard, the gazebo and being near the dam. We rented a pontoon and enjoyed the big, beautiful lake all week. We are not big fishermen, but the kids caught tons of fish right off of the dock and had a blast. The pool was so nice to use as was the paddle-boards and the kayaks. ||Ed, Wendy and the entire staff were all top notch. Best hospitality we have ever experienced and we travel a lot. Hands-down, the best fishing experience I have ever had. The entire facility is very nice and very clean. The staff is very professional. I especially loved coming in and giving my catch to one of the staff and then finding it cleaned and filleted and in my fridge. Fishing on the lake was fantastic. Caught fish every day. the staff knows where the hot spots are. Even fishing from the docks was very successful. The dam and river right there provided for some nice fly fishing for a change-up. I am only sorry I missed the muskie season.

Our family spent a week at the resort. We were immediately impressed with how well the property was maintained. Our lodge was clean, comfortable and was easy to make it home for the week. The pool was great to break up the days. The staff was amazing and the service was top notch! Great place for family and friends to gather and make memories!

Stayed at VDL during a fall musky trip. The surrounding beauty of Lake Vermilion is just astounding. Ed & Wendy operate a first-rate lodge. The entire staff is hospitable, with a level of customer service that is rare to find. We experienced trouble with our trolling motor, and Ed, together with his crew, helped get us back on the water. The clean cabins and grounds also make VDL a welcome destination. The dam provides a soothing ambiance, which facilitates sleeping. We're looking forward to future visits!
