Customer Reviews
As other people have stated, the owner is a real horse's ass. He was unbelievably rude to both me and my wife. The restrooms were filthy and didn't have any toilet paper in women's restroom. Please, please don't stay at Overland Park. I'd recommend staying anywhere else if you want to have a good, safe time.
|This campground is a fantastic place to stay and is owned by a man that my wife and I met and quickly developed a deep appreciation for. I own a mobile RV repair business, have stayed in hundreds of various parks and this one ranks in the very top. We came to Fort Davis for its natural beauty and character, and THIS campground AND its Owner have the same great character as the Town we have come to love. Although we had driven two days to get to the campground and were extremely tired the Owner was insistent upon making sure that we knew what the area had to offer and the best places to go in town unlike other parks where they would scurry you off to your assigned spot. When we talked a bit and realized our common ground of being patriotic Veterans who served, especially his long career
We stayed in the RV park on our way to Big Bend and could not have been happier. The location is great and the owner treated us like family. It was a cold March night when we arrived and he made me a hot cup of coffee. Bad reviews are always subjective, so give this place a shot if you want a great bargain for an RV spot in a great location! We actually stayed Spring Break a few years ago and are going back next week! Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Ft. Davis.
Went here after a friend asked us to meet them there. At check in got a strange vibe but let it pass. With a warm day and a cold rainy day and night (where we used the heater) the next day we left out for the day and left the AC off. Upon returning back it was hot and turned on the AC and it just would not get cold. After inspection of the plugs he insisted we use for 50 amps they were warm and not in good condition. Trying to avoid any damage to our unit we plugged into the site beside us as it was empty using our own adapter. When my husband went to let the owner know not to rent out that other site because of the issue he immediately said we burned up the hookups and we would have to pay for it. My VERY laid back husband said that is not our responsibility that his equipment and hookups
The owner of this place is aggressive, rude, and unreasonable. On top of that the campground itself is lousy. the bathroom is GROSS, and is locked- requiring walking all the way across the campground. I have stayed in Walmart parking lots that were much nicer stays. This is the first time I have ever reviewed anything in my life - I'm 27 - I felt THAT strongly that others need to be warned. do not stay here. If you have no other options FIND ONE!
