The location of the Sproul Ranch is second to none. The scenery is spectacular! Our room was spotless and welcoming. It was very quiet and peaceful. The owner was at the Ranch most of the time and was very helpful. We are so glad that we found this gem! Thank you for a wonderful time!

Perfect for us! We were there just for the night for the proximity to Fort Davis and the McDonald Observatory and its star party. Room 13 perfectly accommodated my husband and I on a queen bed and our three children on double/single bunk beds. I was personally pleased to see a VLBA radio telescope on the ranch across from the lodge adding to the cool factor. I would like to have had time to explore more, including any property amenities. But I can definitely say the room was very cozy compared to the semi-3rd world and primitive accommodations near Terlingua from the 5 nights prior.

Very cool cabin way off the beaten path. Unfortunately the beds are very uncomfortable, the sheets and pillows are old and grimy. But the worst part is the unmaintained 2.2 mile gravel road has the worst wash-boarding I've ever had the unpleasant experience of driving on.

Three buddies and I recently spent a long weekend at the Sproul Ranch and we can not say enough good things about the place. The room was nice and big enough for the 4 of us. The icing on the cake is the view of the ranch and the outdoor areas. The pool area was fantastic. There is a hot tub, tv, bar, smoker, and fire pit all there for your use. We loved sitting by the fire at night and watching MLB playoffs while under the stars. We also took the ranch tour and really enjoyed our time with Roy. He and Kerith have done a lot to preserve the history and beauty of this great place! We will definitely come back.

This is the second time I’ve stayed here. Just an incredible place to reconnect with family and friends. No cell service which is awesome! Cold pool and hot hot tub. Ranch golf is so fun. Rooms are comfy and nice. You have to take the ranch tour with Roy! He is an awesome tour guide. His mustache will make Sam Elliott weep!
