Ole Miss Motel

Truly the oldest, grossest motel room you can imagine. Our rate was supposed to be $130 per night and ended up being $420 total for 2 nights. When asked how, I was told “tax???” Yeah that’s called fraud. Truly a horrible experience.

I'm not sure when this motel was built, but I definitely felt an early 1950s, pre-Holiday Inn vibe. The room was small, had no desk, and only offered a straight-back chair for sitting. The furnishings are dated, though I recognized the pillowcases as Holiday Inn surplus. My bath towel was Hampton Inn. But I'll give credit where credit is due. The towels and linens were white as snow, and the room was clean. There were more cable TV channels than I usually see at hotels. I liked being able to park right outside my room. Did I get more value than I paid for? Considering that I could have paid $600 more for two nights at a Hampton Inn on a busy weekend, yes! Will I stay there again? It depends on what everyone else is charging, but the answer is probably yes.

Locked me out of my room a night early after we already paid and they had bugs. No refund was issued. Management/owners are shady.

This is a great motel for the price. As a single woman traveling alone, I was a little concerned whether I would feel safe here or not. But I liked being able to park right in front of my door. My room was a king size non-smoking room and it did not smell like smoke and was clean and comfortable. The ac/heat was remote controlled and worked fine. The TV was old style so my fire stick was useless, but enough channels that I was able to find something to watch. No coffee maker but small fridge and microwave. The water pressure in shower was great. I stayed 2 nights while visiting my son at the Oxford Outpatient Center and would definitely stay here again.
