Ocean Lodge Hotel South

Stayed here recently. 1. TV didn't work 2. Toaster was a fire hazard 3. Wifi didn't work 4. Fridge didn't work 5. Stove had 2 burners that didn't work Room was filthy. Management unhelpful. I told them the fridge didn't work and they assured me that it did, and I should keep the door closed. I own a fridge as most people do and I can tell when it doesn't work correctly. Spoiled a lot of the food, freshly bought milk curdled in 5 days Sofa smelled so bad it made my friend gag and the upper floor smelled of mold. I wouldn't stay here again if it was free.

The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Boardwalk and the beach were close. Hotel was old, wooden doors and actual keys to open the room. Room very small and no fan in bathroom, shower was small and toilet was extremely close to the wall and you had to straddle the toilet to do your business. Would not stay here again even though the price was good. Parking is not free! Just another way for OC to gouge you.

What a wonderful stay! A lovely hotel, room was fresh and clean, A/C worked great, bathroom was huge, good shower pressure and bed and pillows were very comfy. Parking was great too, large spaces and most were under the building so we appreciated that. The friendly and helpful owner and front desk personnel were awesome, excellent customer service, I can’t say enough how impressed I was. Boardwalk super close as well, just a couple short blocks, an easy walk. And you’re about in the middle of the boardwalk so lots to do to the left or right when you get there. My husband and I were heading from NJ to home in NC and only needed a one night stay but if we had more time, we definitely would have stayed here longer, it was 5 stars all the way! Highly recommend!

Positive: Location Negative: Room is to small and electrical outlets are a fire Hazzard. When you plug something in it sparks and falls back out

At first, it looks like a nice place. But then you get into bed and you see sand on the sheets. The towels had stains on them. It was pretty nasty. We had to change our own sheets a few times. The floor wasn’t Clean…. This place needs a whole new cleaning service and new towels, and new sheets…… they didn’t give any hand towels and every day I went in the shower I would see an old washcloth on top of the shower bar that wasn’t any of ours…. You cannot make this up….. I feel like it looks like maybe they clean the shower with with a washcloth and just left the dirty washcloth on top of the shower bar… I do not recommend this place at all to anyone and it wasn’t cheap….
