North Beach Resort

NO AC, very unsafe to sleep there, 80f to 90 Fahrenheit day and night. Almost impossible to sleep and rest. Swimming never works. Find a better and safer place. No Central air, place doesn't breath. We felt sick immediately. Opening the windows and fans are not enough. My honest review

Do not stay here! I called the resort a few days before our reservation and he off handedly mentioned the pool was broken and had been broken for 2-3 months (I booked in February)! They don't even know if it can be fixed and more than likely will have to dig it up. They never alerted guests, and to this day are still advertising the pool as an amenity. When I asked if they were giving discounts or allowing cancellations (it was our main amenity we were looking forward to) he said he could only offer free DVD rentals. We did not pay for a vacation to watch TV. I tried to escalate to cancel/discount and no one would help me. I was given three different company's phone numbers to call and spent hours on the phone. I booked directly through the resort webpage and everyone keep saying

We enjoyed our stay at North Beach. It is what it is. It is an older timeshare type resort that has seen better days. The staff is great and doing what they can with an aging resort. The grounds are lovely and the lake is awesome. The pool was closed. The common areas are a bit run down and the rooms are showing their age. That said. Like I said. We enjoyed our time here and it is a nice place if you get a good deal on rooms.

Nice place and location. Boat enthusiasts, fishermen and golfers would love it. It's clean but dated, which gives it an eclectic feel.

Stayed here lately and was not impressed. The staff are amazing, friendly and helpful but they are not on site after hours. The buildinga are in need of maintenace, rotting wood, stained carpets, lights out on the property at night. Swimming area is a joke, way too shallow and not nice. Fire pits in the back are a nice touch. NO A/C in the units which is absurd in this day, wall units should have been installed long ago., no way you will be sleeping at night and the bedrooms are upstairs !NO WIFI in the units, again not acceptable in this day, you can get it in the pool building but it's a hassle to run over there. Pool was closed for no apparent reason also, something you do in the winter not the summer. Overall the location is good near other small towns but the resorts in Detroit Lakes
