Sleeping Fawn Resort

We couldn’t be happier with our experience. The gentlemen running the resort (I feel terrible I forgot his name!) went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. The amenities and small touches around the resort, as well as the obvious care taken in maintenance and design, communicates clearly the passion for hospitality behind this family run resort. Some of our favorites touches: Sunday morning donuts were delicious! The free use of paddle boards, cables, pedal boats made for such a great time fishing and playing in the water! Beach umbrellas! What an unexpected blessing. We could sit right on the beach and watch our kids swim without battling the high summer sun. The gathering room, located near the bathrooms/showers, stocked with board games was an excellent addition

This was our 8th year at Sleeping Fawn. Luckily we are able to rent all the cabins for our annual family tradition of "going to the lake" - (family that now spreads to both coasts). Every year we are surprised by the changes and upgrades. This year we loved our new deck, sliding glass door, pocket doors to the bedrooms, and ceiling fans!! Sleeping Fawn is perfect for all ages. The sandy beach (always groomed) is great. There is very little boat traffic so the kids are safe on the paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards provided - free of charge. In the evening we love sitting around the camp fires and reminiscing. The cabins are super clean and situated among the pine trees making it a very picturesque setting. Beautiful location on secluded and privately-owned lake. Loved the small resort (total of 6 cabins on lakefront with additional sites for tent and RV). Summary: We rented three out of the six cabins and had a wonderful experience. We were pretty much the only families out on the beach in mid September. We had a total of six different families and each of us had a great experience. We will be back next year! Check-in was smooth and fast. There are no keys to the cabins, which caught all of us offguard at first. However, we decided in the end we enjoyed not having to have keys to keep track of. Be sure you will use your reservation before you book. Because I got a puppy I had to cancel my reservation. Getting the puppy was more important than staying at Sleeping Fawn, but because I cancelled my reservation after the 90 day notice I will not be getting my $547 payment which is beyond disappointing. That is a lot of money!!

I’ve stayed here yearly for 9 years now. This is an excellent resort, far better than a few in the area I’ve stayed at. The beach has all sorts of equipment, like kayaks, stand up paddle boards, life jackets, etc. The cabins are well-outfitted too. The general store has ice cream and pizza! We’ll continue to visit yearly.
