Nelson's Park

This is a small camping park along the Rainy River. There's three porta potties, no portable water access and about a dozen camp sites with tables and cook out pits. There's also a boat launch. It's at the end of a residential area but no one there apparently to reinforce rules posted and no number to phone when campers are noisy until 2am. However, it's rarely full from reports who stay regularly and you can camp for up to 14 days for free. Overall, a good experience. It does flood and a week or so before we arrived, we were told the campground was completely under water. So pay attention to weather reports and when the dam upstream is opened.

Price is right (free), excellent boat ramp, odor free pit toilets, most of locals very nice, (a few A holes), won't mention names, Birchdale celebrates 4th of July like no where else and should be on everyone's bucket list. Park is right on Rainy River. Bring your own water, electric and sewer.

Great park, curry under repairs from floods but sweet little campground and fee of charge...wish they had a donation post ...I would contribute.
