Unfortunately, my stay at Moxy Madison Downtown at the Capitol on January 27, 2026 reflects a series of service, communication, and operational breakdowns that warrant full public disclosure, particularly given the property’s subsequent written response, which contains material inaccuracies. Hotel is very clean. Very minimalist. No ice maker,no coffee maker, no chair or desk,no closet. There were 4 hangers and many pegs, many of much were over the tv. I was given a chip for a free drink at the bar turns out was only good for coffee or seltzer drink. No complimentary breakfast. Ok for an overnight stay, but for business or an extended stay, I wouldn’t recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay at the downtown Moxy in Madison, Wisconsin. I was in town just for a single night for a concert at the venue right next door, and this was the perfect place to stay. Parking is a little bit of a challenge, but you get that in larger cities in the downtown. The staff was exceptionally friendly. The room was very nice. And overall, I had a really great stay. Good enough that I think that the next time I am in Madison, I'm probably going to have to stay again.

Enjoyable stay.

My expectations for hotels are low. I don’t need luxury, just a comfortable bed, a quiet room, and basic functionality. Unfortunately, this hotel failed on nearly every level. I booked what was advertised as a king-size bed over the phone, but the bed in the room was clearly smaller than a standard American king and extremely firm to the point of being uncomfortable. Only afterward did staff clarify that it was a “European-style king,” after being confronted about it in a review to the Marriott website. This certainly should have been disclosed before booking. The room itself was poorly designed for comfort with no blackout curtains, and a bright exterior light shone directly into the window all night, making it impossible to get quality sleep.
