Motel 6 Van Horn, TX

This is the best lodging value in Van Horn! It’s comfortable and very easy to unload/load your stuff from vehicle to room & back. If you’re traveling with pets, there’s a great little city park across the street for dog walking. It’s close to local food options, stores, gas + Tesla charging stations, and the I-10 (it truly could not be more convenient). From check in to check out you’re apt to experience superior hospitality from the team that runs this Motel 6 than you do at places that charge much more. Plus their complimentary coffee is good, hot, plentiful and available Early am in the lobby.

Our room was quite small, but had sufficient space for two of us. Everything was clean, the A/C worked great and both of us slept very well. Bring your own toiletries and you'll be fine. ||Caveats for future travelers:|1. Although we were given a WiFi password, we couldn't get any one of our four devices to connect to the WiFi. This might be a problem for someone who planned to work.|2. There are no electrical outlets close to the work table. Again, work might be a problem.|3. The motel is just across the street from train tracks. Trains went by numerous times during the time we were there, and they're very loud. They sound a bit like a jet on a runway. We had our sound machine cranked up while we slept, so the trains didn't bother us, but they might bother others.||Plusses:|1.

Positive: The room was clean and staff were courteous Negative: The noise from the train was loud and there were loud voices outside most of the night.

My 5/5 star rating is relative to all other Motel 6s I've stayed at. Room was CLEAN and DIDN'T SMELL!!!!! I was so grateful the moment I opened the door and wasn't greeted by sticky floors and strong odors. Minerva at the desk was kind. Place was quiet and great location off the highway. I walked 2 blocks over to pick up a steak dinner my husband and I could share. Dinner and motel for under 100$!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!! BEST MOTEL 6 I'VE EVER BEEN TO!

Clean comfortable room for a great price. Refrigerator and microwave included. We travel with our dogs and they don't charge extra for dogs, and have a nice dog spot. A predictable place to spend the night.
