Motel 6 Shamrock, TX

The hotel is away from the highway, which was okay for us. It kind looks sketchy but overall it was safe. The lady at check in was very nice. The room was okay, no issues. Not luxury but good for 1 night. It was located on the historic Route 66 which was cool. I would definitely stay here again.

Arrive late in evening, staff courteous, pleasant & knowledgeable. Found room very clean & quiet. No bedspread, only 2 top sheets, flannel liner between. Adequately warm with heater on. Bottom sheet had hole size of cigarette burn with plastic sticking out if it. But no burn marks, just melted hole where you lay your head. The worst ever was trying to close bathroom door trying not to fall into shower or toilet. Toilet very low to ground, had tank leak, EVERY 15 minutes water running loudly. Too late to get fixed or different róom. A/C unit blows directly onto bed. TV works fine, guide provided. Did not use frig or microwave. Little flying bugs. But room very spacious and clean. Good room if you just need place for the night, not long-term.

We stayed at this motel in May of 2025 on a recent road trip. The room was not clean , and the grounds were dirty. The dog area was not picked up and there were no doggy do bags. The doggy do container was full. The shower control was broken. The shower worked but the water filled up the tub. The ice machine was inoperable.

We wete very tired as we had been driving all through the day, so we only were wanting a clean place with a hot shower for the night. My daughter noticed immediately that the bathroom door had no lock. The shower faucet was backwards and shower head was broken, causing a huge waste of water, and a mess everywhere. There is mold growing on the bathroom ceiling,which prevented my wife from showering, and left her completely disgusted with the place. This was a very unsatisfactory experience. We feel that the room was not worth what we paid for. Poor review is earned.
