Best Western Plus Shamrock Inn & Suites

This hotel just made it to ok. The room was clean and the bedding was nice. The decor was very cheap and bordering on shabby although the lobby was very nice. The room was huge with a small fridge and microwave. There were two beds and a couch. The room was very hot even though it was February. We had to open the window to sleep comfortably. There was a smoke alarm that needed a battery so it beeped in the hallway all night. We were exhausted from driving all day so we were able to fall asleep anyway. The breakfast was ok although the eggs made to order were perfectly cooked. This hotel was acceptable for a night on a road trip.

Room pretty clean little bit of mold on baseboards. Faucets were not really clean but may need replaced. Bed was worn out on one side and the fan on the ac/heater would rattle a bit. Breakfast was good. Would make eggs fresh for you 😋. Waffles were great that you could make yourself.

How this place became a Plus is beyond comprehension. The shades aren't attached to the lamps; the tub is rusted and red. The faucets were not clean. The window coverings were droopy and possibly dirty. I didn't go around looking for these problems; they just jumped out. The worst thing was the heat/AC unit which was rusty and had little lumps of dirt or something visible thru the fins; there was something hanging out of the unit - looked like a temperature probe! Fortunately, we did not have to use it. The one good thing was that the windows were openable.

My mother and I are moving my grandfather to California for healthcare. I called this Best Western at a whim so he could rest, and the customer service was amazing. It was spur of the moment but they got him a room with a handicap shower.The lady at the front desk was amazing. She helped us save money, by giving us the military discount, because my grandfather was a Veteran. 5 stars for making our stay wonderful and easy. The night clerk on 2/15/26 deserves a raise. She was a saint.
