Motel 6 Oshkosh, WI

Checked into my room and the area was okay. Definitely a sketchy place. Only booked here because I was staying for one night and it was close by. After about 2-2.5 hours of checking in a see a ROACH on the wall. Immediately left the room and went to the office. I then proceeded to show the staff a video of the roach in my room and asked for a refund. The staff guy ended up watching my 5 second video of the bug for about 2 mins just staring at the video. Not sure if roaches are a known issue in this hotel or not. He then told me that since it’s been more than 15 mins since I checked in that the owner would not agree to a refund. I made it known it’s not my fault I seen the roach after my check in time and regardless I want a refund. He wasn’t too happy and didn’t know what to do. Ended up g

Positive: "" Negative: When checking in, the hotel informed me that there was a $50 deposit required above the cost of the room. This was a complete surprise. Thankfully it was refunded, but it took several days for it to go back onto my card.

I booked a room for two nights, for myself and my three children. We were headed to Oshkosh to visit family. "Budget" motel should not equal "unsafe dump". The room reeked of smoke, the walls had a brown and red substance smeared on it, the floors were gritty and the bed linens were filthy. The window looked as though it had been licked by a pack of dogs. I complained to a housekeeper who cleaned the room for me - with my help - while my children stood in the doorway. There was not a different room available. I helped because we needed to hurry and get in the room; we had been on the road for hours. I stripped and made a bed and wiped the floor down. The room was a little filthy, and you can tell its not thoroughly cleaned. There is no cleaning service, so in the 4 nights I stayed the trash is filled up and the towels were not replaced. The toilet also was not flushing really well. The bed was soft and comfortable tho.

lifetime ban saying we destroyed the room when we didnt managers rude and we had stayed long enough months to pay for the room several times over even if it was true and they know what theyre doing trapping you by not doing the housekeeping themselves so its their word vs yours. avoid
