Braywood Inn

We arrived late afternoon and rang the doorbell as hadn’t checked the email on the road. We were greeted by a girl with bare feet and told her we had reservations. She asked which room and we said Blue Room. She showed us the room, told us basics, and literally disappeared never to be seen again for the rest of our stay. Never asked us for ID, we could have just wandered in off the street. Went out to eat, came back, cars were gone from the side of the building, and we were alone in the house. Locked our door with the skeleton key, (don’t lose, it’s the only one), and settled in for the night. Got up early, went into the dining room to find cereal and bagels on the table. Apparently there was someone around but again we never saw them. Packed up and got on the road as quickly as possible.|

My husband and I broke down and were looking for a warm place to go. The closest place to us was the Braywood Inn. They accommodated us by allowing us an early check in. Our room was so beautiful and inviting. They had a great selection of teas, coffees and snacks. If you appreciate architecture, you will appreciate this location! Not only is the home beautiful but the neighborhood is teeming with original craftsmanship. Plus there was a delicious Vietnamese restaurant within walking distance (Hanoi House). We didn’t plan our stay but it definitely made a lasting impression!

The owner/staff was wonderful and so communicative. She managed to answer all my awkward questions. Breakfast is a simple self-serve continental breakfast with a great tea selection that I took full advantage of. Rooms were beautiful and cozy and had a historical design element to them. Would definitely recommend booking a room if you're in the Oshkosh area.

I had an amazing experience at Braywood Inn! The property was spotless and very well maintained. The rooms were not only clean but also full of charm—fun and historic touches that made the stay feel unique and memorable. Communication with the staff was excellent; they were friendly, responsive, and made everything easy from start to finish. I highly recommend Braywood Inn to anyone looking for a comfortable and character-filled getaway!

It was the hubby’s turn to plan a weekend & I was pleasantly surprised by his booking this location. The warm character in every corner of this house is so inviting, it almost beacons you to relax. The selection of Rishi teas available along with various coffees was the perfect way to warm up after a walk downtown.
