Most places blend together. But this Motel 6 in Morehead, Kentucky is different — and that difference has a name: Jay. The manager treated me like family from the moment I walked in. That's not something you expect, and after years out west staying at 20 or 30 different properties, it genuinely caught me off guard. These people aren't even originally from the town, but they run this place with more heart and professionalism than most spots I've seen anywhere in the country. Positive: Location and price and parking lot was well lit. Negative: Room was dirty and smelly. The toilet in the bathroom wouldn't flush. I suppose you get what you pay for with a Motel 6.

I had proof of bed bugs and the lady still said she saw none when I clearly have shown her videos. I denied being given another room because why would I stay someplace where i’ve already seen bed bugs?! When cross contamination is a high possibility. The owner didn’t even bother to look at my proof and instantly said “no possible refund”. He proceeded to say that because I had already used up the room they can’t refund and should’ve said something 30 minutes before staying in. I’m sorry I should’ve waited for the bed bugs to hi before knowing they were there. Which I understand but how is it that after having proof of the bed bugs it’s still not possible for a refund. There was mold and the room was very filthy especially the fridge. Towels look worn out and dirty.

We stayed last night at this hotel! I honestly don't understand these bad reviews... Bed was very comfy( I have chronic pain), very clean, nice staff and a great location... Also very pet friendly! We would definitely stay here again! Highly recommended

I actually live at this hotel, the owner is great, the rooms are great, at least mine is anyway, I don't think you will find a better room in Morehead for the price. It is quiet here, it is safe, I feel very comfortable and safe here. They do allow pets, but I am not sure if there is a fee or not. They do have a washer and a dryer for guests to use, there are pop and snack machines, and an ice machine. Free wifi is available along with Roku TV's, where you can watch streaming channels such as Netflix, Hulu. Paramount, etc. Free coffee is available 24/7 in the lobby. Owner is very nice and accommodating. He makes sure that the place inside and outside is clean, neat, and no trash or anything laying around. I am very grateful for this place and the owner.
