Hampton Inn Morehead

Very clean, employees were delightful to talk to and everyone greated you and was extremely nice. The night we stayed the system was down and the young lady at working the counter was swamped and in a very stressful situation with the system and frustrated customers but she handled everything like an absolute professional! It was a good stay and a nice hotel, Thank you Hampton Inn Morehead!

Nice location, quiet. Was close to my work site. Within close proximity to places to eat and service stations. Friendly check in. Breakfast was furnished, was to be expected for hotel food, not bad.. would stay at this location again if need be.

Rooms are clean but outdated. Breakfast is good and public areas are clean. The reason for 2 stars is because the morning after our first night I was in the lobby and could hear one of the employees, getting yelled at and degraded in the front lobby, I’m assuming by the General Manager. Whether the scolding and yelling was necessary, it shouldn’t have been at the front desk in front of guest and the other employees that were standing around. Very unprofessional on the General Managers part but the employee handled it well and did not cause a scene. I will be taking my business elsewhere. The price isn’t worth the stay anyways.

This should be a case of bait and switch. When you search this hotel in the Hilton app, it shows a nice modernized hotel, for the Morehead, KY location cover photo. Upon selecting your room, it shows the correct outdated room. One would think “Oh they just forgot to update the room photos since the main photo is updated. ||No. The main photo is wrong. This place is overpriced and outdated. The bed has box springs that sound like they were installed 20-30 years ago. Squeak and creak every move you make. ||TV is updated. It’s bout a 40-43” LG. Wi-Fi is abysmal during the day. Huge pings, with Wi-Fi improving as the night goes on. Around 11pm I was able to get 5mb up/5mb down. Still slow pings, but usable. ||$162 for the Honors rate, totaling up to a whopping $188 for this outdated location.

I haven’t actually stayed here, but am leaving a review because of how wonderful staff has been during a strange situation. I work at a domestic violence shelter and we had been receiving very inappropriate and upsetting prank calls through our office hotline, but the caller ID was showing that it was from the Hampton Inn - I assume from one of the guest rooms. I called and was told that they were actively trying to get to the bottom of the situation. I just think staff deserves a 5 star review for helping us out.
