Motel 6 El Cajon, CA - San Diego

Positive: N/a Negative: The matttress was not ok, there was a huge hole that was very uncomfortable to sleep on just no support at all.. the ‘non smoking’ room reeked of cigarettes.. the grassy area outside of the room had dog poop which then had tons of flies..

Obviously a lot of fake 5 star reviews. Just look how many are one contribution profiles. Nobody is going to create a Trip Advisor account specifically to give this hotel an authentic 5 star review. Because it’s not a 5 star hotel. And no experienced traveler would ever call it that. ||Now let’s tell it like it is. It’s a hard worn old Motel 6. This is the cheapest chain hotel property for miles around. The best you can say is it’s low priced in a Southern California location where everything is expensive. ||When booking online it appears all rooms are non-smoking but that’s not the case. I was asked at checkin if I wanted smoking or non, said non, and was given a smoking room complete with ashtrays. I’m sure the clerk didn’t realize when she offered the choice that she actually didn’t h

I showed up politely asking to see a clean room before my family that are visiting out of town book their stay here. At the counter, a male employee right off the bat tells me they cannot show me any rooms, but I can walk around the hotel if I really want to check it out 🤔. Luckily, Daniela offered me to give me a quick tour. She is the embodiment of what a great employee with phenomenal customer service looks like. She 100% rocks and she needs to be given every opportunity possible to do well here or anywhere else she works. The room she showed me smelled and looked very clean. I will be recommending this hotel for my family to stay in.

Didn't notice until the next morning that there were cockroaches in the room(131) since I got to my room late at night. They told me I should of called sooner but I was getting ready for check out and the front desk lady told me to call the manager later. I gave him a call to let them know about the issue he said he'll call back I never got a response back. So just something to keep in mind if you see bugs in your room call them asap

Queen room was clean, quality as expected for a motel. Some cigarette burns in the blanket and one of the bath towels, but didn't affect me. I was able to very easily book on Booking.com and was able to show a photo on my phone of the front & back of my ID since I didn't have my driver's license on me. Front desk was kind and respectful, lobby and laundry room were clean. Pet friendly with multiple bathroom spots, and overall a good experience!
