Motel 6 Cedar Rapids, IA

Husband just got released from the hospital and just knew we'd not make it all the way home so for a last minute option we got us a room. The only bad thing was we had to climb the stairs and with just having heart trouble that put my husband in the hospital it really wasn't a good thing. Wore him totally out. So I had to bring everything up the stairs. The room was nice. Older hotel so tub was stained. But over all was very pleased

1st room had an issue so the young man at the front desk got me a new room .he was very helpful and actually lifted my mood and I thought to myself this guy is cool . For someone just passing through there is everything you would ever need around the motel

Positive: Nothing. The room was terrible. We took a shower and left to sleep in our car at a rest stop. Negative: The room was filthy. A burnt cigar butt was left right by the door. Room had ants, smelled of cigarettes and the floorboards were falling off of the wall.

Non smoking rooms smell like cigarettes , etc etc Staff accused me of being rude for not wanting to engage in conversation. And for making a statement that my room was clean I only wish I would have acted worse these people are miserable to work with. Spend 30 dollars more for a room any where else in this area.

This place can't help being what it is but the reviews on the booking site didn't tell the full story. Staff was understanding and helpful when we had to cancel and find a new place due to extreme allergies and other health issues triggered by the rooms themselves. Everything did look clean but the smell really gave the impression that the room was not. Even their smoke free rooms smelled like smoke. It was also pretty noisy and a full hotel. Also watched a mouse outside doing donuts in the parking lot.
