Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Cedar Rapids North

Recently spent one night at this property and was not disappointed. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel itself is clean and modern. The rooms are very nice with comfortable beds and linens. The pool is small but nice.. would love if it was a little bit warmer. Breakfast was decent with a good variety of options. Great location with plenty of food and shopping nearby. The only negative thing I can say is that the walls are kinda thin.. I could definitely hear the people next door, and noise in the hall, the doors are heavy and slam hard but I guess that's the case in most hotels. Overall this was definitely one of the nicest Marriott properties I've stayed at!

Positive: Clean, modern rooms; friendly staff. Nice breakfast; good location.Will definitely stay here again. Negative: Please note that as of this date, the pool is not currently open. ( by no fault of the hotel; it is due to a vacancy in the municipality responsible for issuing permits)

I had a flight cancellation at the Cedar Rapids Airport due to severe weather and had to spend the day here. Brandy at the front desk is awesome!! Absolutely phenomenal service. I called around a couple of higher end places and nobody was able to help me out the way this staff did. My flight cancellation was at 930AM and I was able to check into the hotel an hour after calling them. Not only that, they provided me with a complementary sweet treat for my troubles. The rooms are clean and I’m very excited to check out the pool!

A great new option for Marriott members to stay in Cedar Rapids. Breakfast was good. Staff was very nice and helpful. Fitness center is well equipped with weights starting at 5 lbs. It would be helpful for seniors to have 3 & 4 lb weights available but most seniors probably don't use the fitness center anyway. I try to do my PT and fitness every day or two so I appreciate having it available. The breakfast had many options including several different fruit, hard boiled eggs, and the oatmeal was made perfect, not thin and runny and not so thick it can't be eaten. The breakfast also includes all the other standard options found at most. The rooms are clean and newly remodeled. I loved the duo shower head, bench seat, and a tub. I haven't seen a tub in a long time at a Marriott. Only down sid

Location is pretty good and the only thing that was a little wonky was the thermostat. It was just very delayed and no way to do heat only; I felt like I was fighting with it lol otherwise very clean and nice.
