avid hotel Cedar Rapids South - Arpt Area by IHG

I travel a ton for work. Avids are consistently consistent and you get what you expect-- great hospitality, great rooms. I love that Avids have the sparkling water and fresh coffee available 24/7. I accidentally left a bottle of wine in my room (stored it inside because it's been freezing outside) and only remembered after checking out. I called them and they were great about holding it until I came back in town. 10/10 would recommend. BTW, if anyone else is also using concur to book-- this is at least a 3 star hotel, not a 2 it says on the app.

We had a very good experience at this hotel. We stayed here the night before an early flight out of Cedar Rapids. It was only 5 minutes to the airport. The room was small but this was probably the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed at. It was relatively new and was still bright and shiny. The rooms do have a refrigerator but not a microwave. However there was one available in the lobby. The breakfast was pretty basic but it did start at 5 am for those with a need to check out early. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again if needed.

Avid Hotel is simple, but is clean and provides all the necessities. The room is clean and has an abundance of charging capabilities, as well as all necessary amenities. The room temperature can be controlled by the guest. The gym is great and has a lot of different options with equipment. The pool looked very nice; however, I did not use the service. The breakfast was simple, but great. Everything was individually wrapped and there were many healthier options, as well. The coffee, tea, and water station was available 24/7. The staff were friendly!

We stayed in this hotel a week ago. The beds don't offer a lot of support and amenities are a bare minimum. The room was clean and I like that there is no carpeting. Breakfast was average at best. They had forgotten to get the butter from the fridge which made it a bit hard to spread on muffins and bagels. My biggest complaint is that a week later, they still have not removed the hold charge for incidentals. I just talked to the hotel and they said they have no idea how long that will take. They wanted to charge me a penny and then refund the penny because that might take care of it. I feel a week is plenty long enough to cancel a pending charge they are not entitled to. I would have a hard time recommending them because of this.

Everything just feels fake here. Its very cheaply made with small rooms.. For the price that is. Then the lack of viable amenities. Like a tv that is app capable. Instead you have to disconnect your VPN. Then connect to their Wi-Fi to "cast" from your phone. No thank you. I like to keep my credit card info and bank info to myself. Thanks. So now your forced to watch live tv. Great. It also very odd the make absolutely sure you know about the Wi-Fi and what the password is cause it is everywhere. Come on! Do not trust this hotel.
