Motel 6 Cedar Rapids, IA - Airport

Tall guy (forgot name) at desk Sunday night was super helpful and had great sense of humor. Sabrina was a life saver when I had an emergency and had never called for an Uber before. All staff very friendly! Rooms aren't the greatest but you get what you pay for. The new owners need to upgrade the rooms since this is a prime location near the Industrial park.

Positive: My room was close to the outside door and didn’t have far to walk. Negative: They gave me the wrong room then they didn’t come in to take the trash out refresh our towels and make our bed.

Booked airline, car rental, and motel thru Priceline as a package, assuming they wouldn't give motel options that were unsafe or unsanitary. But I was wrong! The back entrance which faces the parking lot was disgusting and the door propped open, no doubt the source for flies in my room! We all know Motel 6 is basic accomodation, but this should embarrass their corporate leaders. From missing light bulbs leaving open sockets in the bath vanity to electrical tape holding the TV remote sensor light, remote control cover missing so batteries falling out, saggy sheets slipping off the mattress, dried glue or epoxy on the furniture, to mold in the shower tile and a malfunctioning a/c unit. The pictures online are deceiving. This was the most disgusting motel I have ever stayed in. The one bed room was filthy and very small. The floor was filthy, and the tub was extremely stained and unclean. Stains prove lack of proper cleaning. It's a health hazard! We realized how dirty the floor was after I took a shower and walked around barefoot. My feet were very dirty when I was going to apply my foot cream. I had to wipe them off. I asked for extra towels to put on the floor so our feet won't get dirty again. When we wiped the floor in the bathroom when it got wet, the towel was black with filth.
