Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Hoover/Birmingham

The location was great. I loved how convenient it was to a lot of shopping centers and restaurants. However, the hotel seemed to be infested with roaches. I mean all sizes. There were a total of 5 roaches in my room. I called the front desk staff, whom was pleasant and offered to move me to another room, however it was no use. I should’ve done my research on the hotel prior to booking. I was in town for the Chris Brown concert and this was the only hotel nearby that had rooms available for a descent price. My advice: Do not stay here. Pay the extra money and stay somewhere clean, safe and updated.

Is fair priced compared to several neighboring hotels. Staff has been pleasant the couple times I have stayed here. Air-conditioning worked great in each of rooms have stayed in. If looking for place to stay at last minute with no plans being made without feeling like need to take out a loan just to sleep for the night then I have no problem choosing to stay here again. Am giving 4**** cause is what they already have at the time of this review and im not going to lower them by no means and at same time cant give a complete 5***** review either. I mean if you want to get real technical then yeah it could use a few things here and there but that would also mean the cost to stay would increase at sametime. If that your that person then wouldn't be looking through reviews to begin with.

Absolutely gross. Broken AC grill. Filthy stained shower. Water and soap stains on shower walls. Dust and gunk where toilet paper roll hangs. Used bottle of shampoo. Water barely warm. Tissue holder empty. Breakfast was terrible and they used styrofoam plates that you can't put in the microwave to warm up the oatmeal or frozen egg patties.

Positive: Location. Nice staff Negative: So many roaches! Gross smell in the room.

The name Microtel says it all. The room was very tiny! The bed took up most of the room. Stayed for 2 nights only. I felt like a sardine in a can. Room could have been cleaner. Everything worked but a little older. I wouldn't take my wife there.
