Courtyard by Marriott Birmingham Hoover

I usually don’t write reviews, but after a recent experience at a Fairfield Inn in Marietta, GA (a review I’ll be sharing separately), I felt it was important to recognize this location for doing things the right way. I have stayed at this property at least 10–15 times, and I leave happy every single time. The rooms are always clean, requests are consistently accommodated—or at the very least there is a genuine effort to meet them—and most importantly, the staff focuses on asking “How can I fix the problem?” rather than making excuses. Thank you to the manager and entire staff for always making my stays enjoyable. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Birmingham Hoover was nothing short of a disaster. This hotel’s management should be ashamed, and frankly, they ought to be investigated for their sheer negligence when it comes to guest experience. Let’s start with the entrance... if you can even call it that. The lobby sign is nothing more than a sad, flimsy piece of cardboard, barely visible above the cars parked right in front of it. I had to drive around the parking lot several times before even finding the right entrance. This isn’t just poor signage, it’s a blatant disregard for any kind of guest convenience. Had a reservation at his property for two months for a 2 Queen room. Checked in on the Bonvoy app the night before and provide my arrival time. Showed up and the front desk said they did not have a room and they had sold our room. No apologies other that to say folks checked in before our 9 pm scheduled arrival time and they gave the reserved room away. I asked for another property that we could go to and they said there was nothing available. I ask for the managers number and front desk clerk refused. Absolutely the worst hotel experience of my life. Avoid this incompetent and unprofessional property at all cost. I wish there was a way to provide a less that 1 rating.

Positive: "" Negative: There was a loud party going on in the room next to me. Screaming children and loud music, no one seemed to care enough to tell them to be quiet and be respectful of guests trying to sleep. Kids would also knock loudly on doors.

Was traveling with family and stayed here for the weekend. The staff was absolutely amazing, the rooms were very clean and hospitality was beyond amazing! We stayed the 24th-26th of October, Alex was absolutely amazing and her smile and friendliness will bring anyone back! We will be back on the way through and will definitely stop again.
