Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Athens

This hotel is in a great location with many restaurants and services nearby. I have been here for 4 days and have had a pleasant stay. The value is this: you're not going to get many amenities, but the price is excellent for what you do get. Very clean, with a pleasant atmosphere.

This isn't a bad place if you are staying for a night. For this to be located in Athens, they should gear towards families that are visiting and staying the night for the university. I didn't see any breakfast (which is fine, wouldn't have eaten anyway), there was mold in the ceiling if bathroom, the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion was a mix match so im assuming they get by eith what they can, and if you need help at the front desk, then you have to call someone. The room was not well lit and the electrical plugs in the work stations were not secured so when you pull your plug out, the entire socket comes with it. Definitely will not return. For the money, it explains why it was lesser than other hotels. Overall, the room felt dirty and the pillow had black stains on it.

The freaking shower is broke! I struggle to take the main thing I needed other than sleep. And I'm struggling to that as well because the unit creeks loudly and I have an adjoining room where I can here what they are watching. A long with the front desk person and what she is watching! Whatever man! This some ********! And I cant even request a late checkout!

One issue was the shower head in a handicap accessible room. It was not a hand held shower as shown on the room pictures. Made it very hard for my husband to bathe properly. Another issue is the bed. Slept good but way too high off the floor for someone who doesn’t walk well.

The entire building strongly reeked of weed, cigarette smoke, and mold. Everything was dirty. The room was not vacuumed, and there was hair all over the beds. The room smelled of urine. There was a large pee stain on one of the beds, and many other stains on the blankets. There was sticky goo on the floors and on the sides of the bed. There were bugs in the bathroom. The window fell out when we tried to open it because of the smell. The pads on the walls and under the window were absolutely disgusting. No breakfast. If you don't want to feel like you are sleeping on other people's bodily substances, do not stay here.
