Merida Inn & Suites

Me and my boyfriend stay at Merida at least 2-3 times a month. The owner Vic is so awesome. He is hospitable and makes sure our stay is pleasant His housekeeping staff Steve in particular is so great He always checks on us. Conversation is a plus great guy. I'd recommend this hotel 5 out of 5

Pictures portray a clean “old world “ Florida motel, what you actually get is an unkempt, poorly maintained, hell of a motel. After checking in, which was a tedious experience in its own, walked through courtyard and in plain sight is a gallon jug of bed bug killer. Inquired about it at desk and showed the picture of the jug. Was told by the “not owner” that it has been out in the Florida weather for the past three years. I live in Florida, it would not look brand new. Was not offered a refund to stay somewhere else and being a trusting person believed the man. In the room we had dirty linens, electrical sockets that were cracked and coming away from wall, safety lock broken and 1/2 inch gap between door and doorframe . Speaking of doorframes, not one door in room was clean or looked like

I stay here often. Usually pretty quiet, staff is for the most part, friendly. Good location. Rooms are plenty big enough and clean. I am happy with my stay every time

My daughter and I were just staying one night, and thank goodness because I would not have wanted to stay another night. There was a gap under the door from the rubber peeling away, soap on a cloth on the bathroom floor, paint peeling, the door of the closet was peeling away, cracked mirror, exhaust fan in the bathroom didn’t work, rust, dirt on the doors…just very much unkept. We’ve stayed at “old” hotels before because we love the charm, but this wasn’t “old” charm. This was just…ew. Also, forget about using the pool. Has this green/blue color to it, leaves all the deck like it hadn’t been swept in a few days and insanely small. Honestly, I wish I would’ve just paid the $35-$40 more and stayed at a different hotel. It is very close to drive to downtown Saint Augustine, but not walking.
