Mauna Lani Point

We stayed at Mauna Lani Point over the New Year’s holiday, booking and paying a premium specifically for a two-bedroom Ocean View accommodation. Unfortunately, the unit provided did not accommodate us with an ocean view. Upon check in late in the evening, Maria informed us that their reservation team booked us incorrectly. The view was of the golf course, with no partial or obstructed ocean visibility. This was acknowledged on site, and while staff were polite, there were no Ocean View units available during our stay. What has been most disappointing is how this has been handled afterward. Resolution efforts have stretched on for weeks, responses were slow and inconsistent, and refund amounts were communicated, changed, and retracted multiple times. Stayed in a beautifully updated 2 bedroom unit. F206. Great view, golf discount with this unit, free parking. Pool area was about a block away, easy walking distance. Barbecues, outside kitchen, tables & chairs, and sitting area all at the pool. ||-Beach Club was farther so had to drive. Nice calm beach, great snorkelling. Great restaurant at the beach, there are some lounge chairs & cabanas available for free for guests staying at the resort, but have to arrive early. Best bet is to bring your own. The unit we stayed in did not have beach chairs, so would have to rent. Lots of trees & shade available.|| -A short 10 minute drive to Waikoloa, where there are more restaurants & shopping. There is a shopping area at Mauna Lani, with a few casual restaurants, & a grocery store. Better shop

Andrew Geer, the Mauna Lani Point Executive House Keeper, made the difference between a fantastic vacation or a dreadful one: When we arrived after our long trip from New Mexico, we were advised by Office Manager Lei that our very gorgeous unit - which we'd stayed in last May - was unavailable due to plumbing issues, but that they had another unit that was of equal status to show us...No idea when our beloved unit would be fixed. We have been coming to Mauna Lani for 20 years, staying at eventually all the prime VRBO resorts, and thought we'd found our final final unit to stay at, twice a year; but we trusted we'd be taken care of professionally. The alternative unit offered was unacceptable - tiny, poorly laid out and without charm. It had an ocean view, which was not a feature we had

My family absolutely loves it here. ||I suggest owners and guests leave their cell phones off at the pool and take personal calls in the club area or in their own condo. Please be respectful of others. Maybe a new pool rule for no cell phones?||We listened to personal and business calls every day at the pool.

This condo was AMAZING! Clean, spacious, everything was stocked up! It was worth every penny. It honestly felt like home for the 2 weeks we stayed. Usually you have to get your own things at air bnb but this they had extra of everything. If you needed anything it was just a text away and the response time was impeccable. Honestly couldn’t have had a better experience. Thank you guys so much for making this family vacation so||Memorable!
