Matterhorn’s Hunter Lodge

Minutes away from Hunter Mountain. This is a great place for a ski getaway. It’s clean, comfortable and pet friendly. There is also a really fun game room with pool table, ping pong, video games and a big screen tv. Had a perfect vacation!

Just two of us guys looking for an inexpensive comfortable place to sleep, shower and that is close to the slopes (you can see it from the window) for one night. This place did the job. We will definitely return if it is available.

Summary: Our stay (Dec 29 - Jan 2) was a safety disaster. We experienced a total failure of essential services that management admitted to in writing but refused to properly remediate. Do not risk your family’s safety here; if an emergency happens, you are truly on your own.||Atmosphere (1/5): The atmosphere was one of total abandonment and neglect. Being trapped in a pitch-black, freezing building with three children during a sub-zero power failure—knowing there was no staff on-site to help—created a dangerous and high-anxiety environment. The property felt like an unmanaged "ghost hotel" rather than a safe place for families.||Service & Safety (1/5): Management was grossly negligent. Upon arrival, they provided incorrect entry codes, leaving us stranded in freezing weather for 90 minutes

Excellent location to Hunter mtn, and incredibly comfortable beds. The host was also very polite and responsive to requests. The room definitely needed some extra lighting though, and was very hot (no thermostat to turn it down!)

Hunter Mountain Ski Resort is only a short drive away. Check-in is easy and management responds quickly. Being pet-friendly is a major plus.
