Was worried camping here because of other bad reviews, but I had a backup plan and wasn’t too worried if I needed to find another option. But I actually really enjoyed this campsite! It’s fairly remote, you don’t get a lot of highway noise. The campsites are kinda close together, but luckily we had some quiet neighbors. Campsites 1 and 4 seem to be a little more private if that’s what you’re looking for. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. I typically prefer a cathole at primitive sites since portajohns aren’t often cleaned at these sites, but this one gets cleaned often and was cleaned right before we got there which was a pleasant surprise. There was some trash from previous campers (and a porcelain toilet in the woods? Was a funny sight), but we left the site better than we fou

I've lived 5 miles from Double Gate most of my life and saw the gates open so I drove in for the very first time and I was amazed at how big this area is. Im happy to have found another camping area also. The roads are pretty decent and regular ol car should get you around just fine.

This is the perfect park to stay at if you are looking to get away from everything. There are not too many amenities here but you do have a portalet and non potable water available. There only four campsites and we fit two tents and our two cars there with plenty of room. It looks as if there are lots of trails to hike. Make sure you bring everything you need, the roads out there are not bad but a little bumpy. I went in my car and it was just fine. There are some stores a few miles away and a couple places to eat. I gave it the five stars because it was everything I was looking for. I did not want a built up campground with a lot of people. This was great I think I only saw one other person the whole time I was out there. Great getaway to escape everyday life.

There is no water access in this park that i could find and definitely no place to launch boat or kayak. There's places to launch 20 min away. The road in is narrow but very well kept. Be sure to follow the camping signs if you're taller than an SUV. Goggle sends you a way with low hanging branches. The campground was very nice and quite secluded. Theres a wheelchair accessible Porta-potty that was clean and had pleanty of tp. There was non potable water there as well. We enjoyed biking on the roads and forest trails.

All I can say is make sure to have a back up plan. My girlfriend and I planned on camping one night while visiting St. Augustine. I made reservations through reserve America and paid for the site. We arrived at the camp site an hour before nightfall only to find a family of squatters, with a young child and dog, living at the site. It was clear they had been there for some time. They even had a large boat on a trailer, even though it's a tent only site. They tried to hide the number 1 site marker with an adhesive light, but it was clear where the post marker was. We called reserve America. However, they said they are a third party service and couldn't do anything. We then called the state park, but couldn't get through since it was a weekend. (Apparently, there is only one ranger in the w
