As a first-time skier, I was hoping for a more organized and beginner-friendly experience at Massanutten Ski Resort. The biggest challenge was navigating the rental and lesson process. There isn’t much clear signage for ski school or lesson check-in, which made it confusing to figure out where to go. We were directed through the rental shop and only later told to check in behind the building. For first-time visitors, this can feel a bit overwhelming. The rental area was very busy and seemed understaffed for the volume of people. Guests are expected to pick out their own helmets, and they didn’t appear to be sanitized between uses. I had to ask for disinfectant spray before using one. Boots were also handed out without much guidance on how to properly wear them, which can be difficult for b
We visited Massanutten ski lodge this Jan. where the entire mountain was covered in snow — absolutely stunning! The ski resort has trails of all levels, perfect for beginners and experts alike. We rented our gear and even took a short lesson with a friendly instructor. After skiing, we relaxed in the hot springs and enjoyed hot cocoa at a cozy café near the base. At night, the slopes lit up beautifully, creating a magical and exciting atmosphere. The kids had a blast, and the adults got to unwind — it was truly a perfect winter getaway.
Ski slopes themselves are decent and were enjoyable. The rental shop was abominable. Old dated equipment, no ski poles left, and it took over 90 minutes to get through. The lift staff were more interested in flirting with their friends than directing the huge crowds. Will not be returning.
Awesome ski resort. Went there today, employees were great, food was great, and all the ski trails were awesome
I took private lessons with Chris and he was AMAZING! He was so encouraging and gave me so much advice! Every time I went down, I felt like I was getting a little better!!!! He was amazing! I would 100% lessons if you have never snow boarded before, and I would recommend them with Chris!!!!
