Eagle Trace In The Valley

Upon arriving and walking in the door there is this awful scent of rotten wet dough. It carries into the room, although isnt as bad inside of the room. Then there is the shower- the drain doesn't work so I showered in my own friggin dirt. Disgusting. Parts of the molding are rotting. It looks like the kitchen is pulling apart and the floor feels uneven. The pull-out bed is loud as can be. Oh and lastly we can hear everything above us. So much for a good night's sleep. Aside from all this crap the place is ok. I wouldn't stay again.

Check in took a little bit of time and immediately had miscommunication with the dates. I had book 2 nights and the front desk wrote 1 on my parking pass. After getting it changed we headed to the room. The fireplace in the living room didn't work then in the bedroom there was a light fixture just hanging from the ceiling. Next we went onto the deck where there was rotting boards that were unsafe to be on. After looking around the room we noticed it wasn't the cleanest. We decided to continue our stay anyway. The next day while out we received a message saying we had been checked out even thought we had another night. After calling the front desk they said it was a glitch and that everything was still good for another night. After returning to the room we discovered our keys have been deac

In the process of being renovated, we were the first to stay in our unit since renovation. Having stayed at most Massanutten areas, this one is one of the nicest. Also having stayed in the old Eagle Trace the renovation was badly needed and is well done; nice new furniture, smart TV, new carpeting and hardwood, etc. Though, the layout has some nuanced things that suck (such as the bathrooms tiny countertop or the coffee table being far too small and low), and the overall design is rather bland (all neutral with no decor to speak of). Overall very nice, would recommend. Also, get a half-kitchen unit if you can; they're on the top floor and much quieter/have better view.

This is a great family vacation place. We've been there several times, always in the summer. The rooms have enough space, with comfortable but not luxurious furnishings. There are enough sleeping spots for our big family. Maintenance is done well enough, but we have had a few minor issues. This year, we didn't have running TP (only two rolls for both units) and it took three calls over two days to get it corrected. In the resort, the pools are great, and activities like go karts, ropes course, and crafts keep the family entertained. Having spent money on the accommodations and travel, we prefer not to invest in these much. The water park is quite nice, but in our view only with the price with some kind of discount. We loved the units but it is a little far from the activities. We had to drive to everything.
