Marriott Knoxville Downtown

We stayed at the Marriott downtown for a work holiday party. We made a long weekend out of it for a great staycation. While we were there we were informed of the car service they provide. Simon, the driver, was very knowledgeable and kind. We we taken to market square and Gay street on different occasions and picked up when we were ready to return to the hotel. Such a great service! And not having to pay for additional parking fees or deal with downtown traffic ourselves was great!

As someone who travels frequently, hotels often become my home away from home. For the past five years, I have consistently chosen Marriott properties because of the exceptional service, and time and time again, my expectations continue to be exceeded. This weekend, while visiting Knoxville, I stayed at this property and had an experience that truly reaffirmed why I remain loyal to Marriott. While packing to leave, I accidentally dropped a necklace my mother gave me 20 years ago. I didn’t realize it was missing until I was already on my way home. Knowing the chances of recovering it were slim, I called the hotel, described the necklace and where I believed I had left it. To my surprise, I was placed on hold briefly and within five minutes was informed that my necklace had been found. I w

Positive: Totally redone, lobby is very nice. Negative: It was $38 to valet park my car. The 2nd night I parked in a deck one block away for $2. $38 is an outrageous number for Knoxville, TN. I will never do that again!

STAY HERE FOR THE FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE!! The location is great and the lobby is beautiful, but the functionality of the place—bathrooms, breakfast—makes the place disappointing. However, those things can be brushed aside for the free shuttle service. It is INVALUABLE. See, parking in the happening areas of Knoxville, where you want to be, is awful. There are plenty of lots, but they are going to charge you $10 for 45 minutes!! Street parking is available, if you can get lucky. So, the free Marriott shuttle is perfect (especially in cold weather). Simon and the other driver whose name I missed, were both awesome. So friendly and helpful and responsive. (Rez was on 02/24/2026). If you have Marriott tier membership, this hotel DOES NOT recognize your status, this is my their own managers admission. I have over 3000 stays in over 25 years with marriott, I have a top-tier status. Check out is 11 AM, I requested additional hour to check out at noon. I am guaranteed a 4 PM check out time because of my status. The clerk over the phone immediately told me “NO” on the additional hour check out without even looking at my status or asking if there’s any other assistance she could provide. She stated you had to be on a “list” in the list was full. The clerk and the manager later told me both that because they are a designated conference center that extended checkouts are by list only, and that status didn’t mean anything on this marriott property. t
