Lumberjack Inn

This place doesn't even deserve one star. Stayed here as part of a hockey tournament and it was a disaster. The water was brown coming out of the sink and water pressure was barely there. Some families in our group did not have heat in their rooms. The key cards opened every room in the hotel. The pool was freezing cold because the heater was not working. Cleanliness was terrible. Staff rarely onsite to help with things. When we reserved, we were given a discounted room block rate, however most of the families were charged the normal rate ($363 for two nights, which is a crime considering how nasty this place is). I communicated with Bill via phone and email about being overcharged. He claimed he didn't have any documentation from the former employee who set up the block, so I sent him do

Clean room and great location in the Hayward area. It’s an older property, but you can see they are putting the time and money into it in numerous areas. The woman we spoke with during check-in was very friendly and helpful.

Do not stay here. We stayed with a group for a hockey tournament and had a terrible experience. Rooms were not clean, water came out of faucets and showers dark brown, and our group was horrified to realize that our room keys opened all the room doors! Some didn’t even have deadbolts, so anyone could’ve come into your room at any time. The pool was supposed to be heated and was not, and there was no soap, shampoo, or any other supplies for the rooms. To top it off, several in our group were overcharged and the manager refused to refund us after our cards had already been charged. They did not honor our group rate. Stay away from the lumberjack inn!

Avoid at all costs. Stayed here as part of a hockey tournament. Pool was not heated (staff tried to make up for it by buying some pizza). Multiple rooms did not have water, those that did had rusty water. Keys worked for all rooms. No hand soap is provided and guests needed to buy their own. Overall, the rooms and hotel is is extremely poor and disgusting condition.

Undergoing remodeling. Our room was really not ready to rent. No heat (and 28F that night). Iron stains on the fixtures. No exterior lighting. Table had a bad (loose) leg. (Hint: Dark-colored towels may be easier to launder than white, but guests might raise an eyebrow.) The manager did her best, checking another room for heat, but that one did not have any, either. It looks a lot like this is an amateur fixer-upper getting by on as little cash as possible. The plus side ... Good internet, quiet, dark, and clean.
