Ludington Pier House Motel

We were able to book a room online easily and at prices that beat the local competitors for a Wednesday in August. We were lucky to get what appears to be the best view in the whole hotel, overlooking Lake Michigan from the 2nd floor. We loved being able to walk to the lake at night. The pool was in a different building and might be shared amongst hotels but the kids loved the size and temperature regardless. I dont think they offered breakfast but had coffee and vending machines available. No real complaints, can't wait to stay again!

They claim.to have a continental breakfast, but if you are trying to board the Badger, they don't put it out early enough. If you are going to arrive later than 10pm, you will find yourself checking in down the street. Also there is not nearly enough parking for the rooms they have. On the plus side, the rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. So if you are looking for a good night's sleep close to the water or Badger, this is a good motel for that.

Positive: Location Negative: Rm 213, think indoor camping. Uncomfortable, the bed & pillows were cruel. Not thoughtfully cleaned or maintained & very small. #212, slept great & had space. Drywall dust around doors. Window screen broken. Toilet seats broken in both rms. I could go on.

Not as clean as it should be. Dust and grime along baseboards, hair in corners of bathroom, shower curtain mildewed. Mildew in shower. Bathroom window inoperable, and it's the only way to vent shower. We brought cleaner and cleaned room ourself. Coffee maker was not cleaned, still had grounds.

My fiancee and I were about an hour away from the hotel and it was about 9 PM when we received a call from the hotel staff. They let us know there would be no one in the office to check us in because it was going to be late by the time we got there (it was literally 10PM). They instructed us to first go to another hotel down the road to check in a get our key. Once we checked in and got our room key we had to find street parking by the building, which there was no spaces left that looked like it was considered the hotel so we had to park across the street. Once we opened up the door to our room and realized the pictures online are very deceiving from the room we were standing in. Yes, the room was outdated but sometimes those are the best places to stay! But I did not have those feelings
