LIV Hotel Bronx - Newly Built

Perhaps I should have researched this place better. If I had, I never would have made a reservation. First, the hotel is advertised as "newly built". It is not newly built, and it's dirty (our bathroom had recently been redone, but that doesn't justify declaring the whole hotel to be newly built). Second, the entire hotel smelled very heavily of cigarette smoke, including in our room. Third, there is no apparent security for the building. People can literally walk in off the streets and take the elevator to any floor, no key card required. That might suffice in some places, but not here. Interestingly, despite the hotel's lack of concern about the safety of their guests, the front desk sits behind bulletproof glass. Fourth, they advertise free parking. That is technically accurate, but

The Hotel can not be 3 Star Hotel. Chaos Parking. Very limited amenities. No iron in the room. The electric power is right under the pillow (head). It’s very dangerous you might get electricity shock.Very dirty, Noisy and insecure .

DO NOT STAY HERE. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. I recently stayed here and had an absolutely terrible experience. The entire building smelled strongly of weed. Although we booked a non-smoking room, the hallway reeked of marijuana and the smell seeped into our room, making it extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant. The guests were incredibly loud, yelling throughout the night, and we felt unsafe the entire time. The location itself did not feel safe at all, especially at night. When we arrived, the receptionist wasn’t even at the front desk—he was outside smoking. It was December in New York, yet the hotel was freezing cold, including our room. There was no heater, and we were left shivering. The blankets provided were thin, cheap, and completely ineffective against the cold

I chose the hotel because they offered FREE Parking- however, after speaking with the manager after happening upon a review from a previous guest, I was informed that the there were approximately 8-12 parking spaces available for the entire hotel and it was "first come first serve". My parents are elderly, both 72 years old with health issues that does not allow them to walk far distances. Also- parking in New York is very expensive and hard to come by, not to mention that the Bronx is not the safest of areas. I explained all of this to both Priceline representatives and the hotel manager well ahead of the trip and both refused to cancel the reservation, although both admitted that the parking was not as advertised. I ended up reserving an alternate hotel for my parents with FREE parking

Great experience! Liv Hotel is one of the best spots tp stay in Bronx. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with friendly faces. I liked what they did with flowers on the ceilings of the lobby. The interior gives a very modern and aesthetic vibe so much that i clicked a few pictures with my suit on before heading out for my event for which i was in the area. The rooms are clean and comfy too. I would recommend this LIV Hotel.
