Lexington Inn & Suites NW Chicago Elgin

Traveling with family, we requested a couple of small adjustments in the room. The team handled those requests without making it complicated. Breakfast service was steady and tables were cleaned promptly. Staff maintained a calm approach.

We opted to stay here due to a long drive and needing to sleep. We didn’t read ahead much but the reviews are accurate. The hotel smelled strongly and it was dirty and cold. The staff was friendly. The cash deposit was not something we knew when we booked but after reading the fine print, it does mention it. We did get the cash back after she inspected our room at check out. We literally brought nothing into hotel. I brushed my teeth at a gas station. The bed was fine and it gave us some sleep but let’s just say if my kids had been traveling with us, we would absolutely never have stayed. We got there at midnight and we left at 5:30am. If you are in a bind, it works for a place to crash but def do not recommend otherwise. So sorry to leave a review like this. I wish it wasn’t so smelly and

Didn’t provide towels and acted reluctant when I requested the second towel for the two person room. I guess the assumption was we would share. Also strangely they require a cash deposit for the room which you get back before they even check if you didn’t trash the room. Not sure of the logic. My guess is some guests forget to come back for the deposit and they get a bonus. I felt like I definitely got what I paid for because the room was cheap but boy, this is the kind of experience that wishes I had spent a little bit more.

I would give 0 stars if I could!!!! This place is disgusting. I wish I would have read about this before spending $300 on a hotel room I never stayed in bc the stains all over the pillows and bed and the drug deals and people living out of garbage bags.. the base price was 105 and then went up to $145 each room with a $120 deposit to stay. I didn’t even spent 20 minutes total in that room and they won’t refund me. I guess keep it- that’s my tax money- they need it more than I do.. Don’t ever stay there through Expedia!!!!

Positive: They charged me $20 extra for the second night. Negative: They would not give me extra towels.
