Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Elgin, IL

All the staff I interacted with were great. Chris made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. She gave me extra towels when I requested them right away. The breakfast attendant was great. He showed my daughter how to use the waffle maker when she wasn't sure what to do. The suite I booked was clean and perfect for what we needed. Pool was nice.

This was definitely the weirdest most inappropriate experience I have ever had with a hotel. I reserved this hotel the same day after finding out a family friend passed away in their home state of Illinois and if we wanted to make it to the funeral we had to get here by this weekend. Me and my cousin had both worked that day we made the reservation but still packed & drove down from south east Ohio. Although we tried to make it straight through, we stopped shortly after crossing into Indiana and got a motel for the night. When we woke up, I called the hotel and explained the situation said I am just making sure we still have the room for the second night since they already charged me over 220$ for two nights. Positive: the location was perfect for my weekend Negative: they didnt have wash cloths or towels. i asked friday and saturday and was told they were out of towels as they were fully booked this weekend. we got 1 wash cloth and 2 hand towels 2 bath towels for a 3 day stay for 2 people. NOT SUFFICIENT

Room was fairly clean. Missing all the towels and they had no one to bring them to us at 6pm, on the 3rd floor, after the only elevator stopped for a long pause in between each floor. TV had issues, I think it was more the remote than anything. Pool was out of service but that didn't affect us. Bed & pillows were pretty good. Everything seemed pretty clean for the most part. Desk phone was dead but didn't investigate since we just used our cell phones. Caught the tail end of breakfast which was just ok.

Location is great right off interstate 90 and Randall Rd.. Parking lot is adjacent to Jimmys Charhouse. Only a mile or less, from starbucks and other restaurants. The king suites are nice, I like how the bedroom is a seperate room on its own, like an apartment. The double queen rooms are outdated though. Breakfast is good, 3 hour window from 6 to 9. The pool is small and the lighting in pool area could be brighter. Staff is really nice and helpful. Did not smell like Marijuana or pets which was great! I recommend the updated king suite over a double bed room.
