Lake Country Inn

I had a 3 nights stay in early February. I got such a warm welcome from the inn keeper, Linda, that I immediately felt absolutely comfortable and seen to. Likewise, the heating in the room was a cozy welcome on a cold Iowa weekend. The space was very clean, the mattress a dream, good cable TV, a comfy dining table, and fine refrigeration and micro wave. Linda provided a lot of assistance with directing me to my daily destinations and was quick to offer solutions to any difficulties I encountered as a visitor. We stayed at Lighthouse Court, across the street from the lake in town. It's an older single-story Americana motel. Other than being very outdated, seriously early 70's outdated, it wasn't bad. It was clean, stocked well with towels, and we checked the beds for bugs and there was none. I myself would stay here again if looking for a cheap stay.

For the price, Lake Country is a good accommodation. The rooms are adequate but not large. The location is good if you don't like to hear interstate traffic all night. The manager is a charm, but their wi-fi is a near dud. The room has a lot of little touches that make you wonder why they did that. The bed we had was beyond firm, but it was clean and neat. Soundproofing between rooms is last-century, but the clientele seemed good and there were no problems to speak of.

Standard room, nothing fancy, but clean, . Bathroom is outdated, but clean. The bed was comfy and linens were clean. There was a separate chair to sit on and also a small table and two chairs with two chairs outside the room as well. The room also had a microwave and small frig. The A/C was in the wall and a little loud, but all in all for $55 per night, you can't beat it! I stayed there after a concert at the Surf Ballroom, which was only about an easy half mile drive from the hotel. I would recommend it for a night or two for a good , inexpensive night's sleep !

I stayed July 2 at the Lake Country Inn. I was traveling on my motorcycle and stopped on for a room. I could not restart my bike. The staff did everything to could to help. They were wonderful. The guests also tried to help. ||||The rooms were basic, which is what I was wanting. The price was right for the spotlessly clean room. The only complaint I have is the location on the highway and was a little loud but nothing to bad. ||||I would stay here again.
