La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Shawnee

While the service here was great, the whole place needs some love in the way of updates, maintenance and repairs. Also, the dog yard area is literally covered up in dog waste. It would be worth the money to pay someone to clean it up on a regular basis, since your customers with dogs obviously are not. Why does this matter? Because dogs and patrons are stepping in it and bringing back inside on the bottoms of their shoes. As a nice touch, I would recommend having the maid service turn off the alarm clocks in between stays. While we were already awake, not everyone gets up at 5:15 AM. Especially unnerving were the outlets--not only were they askew, but the cords to the TV were pulled especially tight. To end on a positive note--The rooms, bathrooms and common areas were clean. Very clean, nice staff, room nice gueen beds out of king size. Very good breakfast sausage , eggs, waffles typical stuff. Good coffee one bold one regular I liked the bold. Juices and milk. Pool warm no hot tub room had cold air blowing. Not fun comming out of the water. Did see any restaurants near

Positive: Comfortable bed nice room. Negative: They did not give us bedding for the pull out couch that my son was using. I had to go to the desk and get the bedding but they never give us the pillows for it.

It's hard to get into the location because there is no street sign at all, there isn't a sign for the hotel that is visible and the location of the actual street to turn into, is right where people are turning from off the freeway so you have to gun it to make it in. I missed the street 3 times. But the location is close to the mall which was a plus. The room size was nice because it had a separate livingroom from the bedroom, which was oversized. But upon taking off our socks later that night, white dog/cat hair was embedded in our socks and all over our clothes. I noticed there was a lot of dogs with the guests in the rooms. They should have designated rooms just for pets because my son and I are allergic to pet dander. It was gross. For the 3 days there, we were covered in dog hair. T

The facility was in great condition and well taken care of. The rooms were clean and very quiet making for a comfortable good nights sleep. The first rate exercise room had awesome up to date equipment. This facility is our first choice when in the area
