La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lakeland West

I have lived in Lakeland my whole life and I have seen this La Quinta at its finest when it was first built and then slowly decline based on maybe the lack of business or the increase in extended stay guests. When I booked on Priceline low cost “surprise” option, I was concerned that it was this La Quinta. When I arrived and saw my room and met the kind staff my opinion quickly changed. Even more when I woke up to free breakfast. I then decided to stay for a week which rate is quite the deal. My job site was nearby and so I decided to stay for the week and it’s been a great stay. The staff is always on property and very helpful. It almost has the feel of a B&B due to the lovely ladies and gentleman who work morning and night shift. Checked-in date: Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Checked-out date: Thursday, February 26th, 2026. I had to stay at this hotel because all the hotels in the Lakeland area were sadly sold out. Unfortunately, the property is in very poor condition, including beds and sheets were noticeable worn out. It is very evident that it has not been renovated in many years. On top of that, I accidentally left a sleeveless dressy blouse in the closet when I checked out. I left the hotel at 11:00AM and realized later that the blouse was not in my backpack, so I called the hotel at around 3:15PM the same day. Sadly, the item had “disappeared” and was nowhere to be found. This situation was very concerning. This was the fist time that my mom and I had stayed at this specific La Quinta Inn and Suites, and it really wasn't what we had expected unfortunately. We booked this hotel since it was close to where we wanted to be for the weekend. The room we had was okay and decent, as was like the picture that was seen on the company's website. This hotel does need a lot of work in the corridors, and we did notice that one of the elevators was out of service and luckily my mom and I were staying on the first floor. We did notice that there was a notice on the website mentioning a "Please Pardon our Dust / construction" notice when we booked this hotel, and we called to ask about the construction noted on their website and was told by the people at the front desk that they had no construction going on

Positive: Nothing. I had roaches in both rooms and staff stole my items. I would like to make a formal complaint. This also appears to be a hostel not a hotel. The floors were nasty, no clean towels and staff are thieves. Negative: The staff meddled with my clothing when i was not there. My bonnet and dress were missing. after complaining items were missing to Hotel Employee Staff allegedly found my missing item and went into room without my consent to leave it when I told to call me

Excellent service by front desk attendant. Kind and courteous. Room Very clean. I took off a star because the singular elevator for the whole hotel is Super outdated and slow. Needs to be remodeled or replaced. Rooms are very humid. Unless you are keeping your room an icebox, you're gonna be sticky. Windows may need to be resealed or replaced. Good location.
