La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Columbia NE/Fort Jackson

We ended up at this La Quinta Inn completely last minute after arriving into Columbia during a historic snowstorm and having to escape a truly awful VRBO. To say this hotel (La Quinta Inn) was a welcome change would be an understatement. We were incredibly grateful they had availability — and even more surprised (and relieved) that they had pet rooms open. Traveling with cats in the middle of a winter storm was not on our life bingo card, but our cats were immediately calm and happy in a clean, safe room — and so were we. Dan at the front desk deserves a special shout out. He was beyond helpful and welcoming from the moment we walked in. You could tell he genuinely cared in making sure we had a pleasant stay. We had our dog with us, there was not issue having her stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The provided shampoo was empty at check in. Tiles had been replaced on parts of the floor and they weren't level and the bathroom door didn't stay closed.

Positive: Staff very pleasant, hotel (in and out) was very well kept. The room was clean and comfortable. Eateries and shopping all around. I would surely stay there again. Negative: A hotel sign needs to be put on the main street. It sits behind a gas station. Although we were using our GPS, we still missed it twice, driving by. Breakfast was average, we decided to eat down the street. It's alot of great places.

We stopped here for a night while traveling. It’s a great location. Off the highway and right back on. The lobby smelled nice and looked clean. The rooms were nice and clean, too. We inspected the mattress and discovered they use bed bug mattress protectors, which is great! Breakfast was good and hot and readily available. They do have a (small) OUTDOOR pool, which could be disappointing. WE WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN.

We stayed a few nights because of the proximity to Fort Jackson and we're attending the boot camp family day and graduation of our grandson. We took advantage of the hot breakfast each morning. The place is clean and quiet. We enjoyed the time spent here. The beds are very comfortable. The sraff is very nice. The only thing kind of strange is you have to drive through a parking lot of an abandoned building in the front lot, unless you want to cut through the hotel next door's parking lot.
