Kalahari Resorts & Conventions - Round Rock

My extended family of 12 stayed at Kalahari during the New Year's Eve period (12/30-1/3). If I could rate the resort and restaurants separately, I would give the hotel, waterpark, and Tom Foolery arcade 5/5 and the restaurants, Great Karoo in particular, 0/5. Because I can't rate separately, I gave a 3/5. As I later found out, the restaurants and resort are under separate management, which speaks volumes why the customer service and experience was so different.||As for the resort, I felt staff and management took very seriously the label of "family" and "resort." My family had a blast. I have a young son, and the lifeguards at the waterpark seemed very focused on ensuring the safety of young children. A Mini Las Vegas for Families – Absolutely Incredible Experience! I took my kids to meet up with some friends at Kalahari Resorts last week, and I was honestly blown away by the scale of this place! The hotel feels very new and the exotic, African-themed decor is stunning. Even though we visited on a Monday, the resort was buzzing with so much energy and people that I felt like I had been transported straight to Las Vegas. The kids spent most of their time at the indoor water park, and they haven't stopped talking about it since. My son even said it was the best water park he has ever been to! The best part for me? After a full day of splashing around and excitement, they slept incredibly well that night. It is a massive, well-maintained resort that truly offers something for everyone.

I was asked to leave the waterpark. On our last day of our three day stay my family vacation was ruined by one employee. I was approached by an employee who claimed to be a manager. He asked to see our wristbands which none of my family was wearing. I grabbed them right away and presented them. He said that a lot of people were sneaking into the park without paying. He told me that I needed to put them on in order to stay in the park. The problem with this is that we had been there multiple days and the adhesive had worn out. He then said i needed to go the front desk soaking wet with all my kids and get new ones. This is when it turned for the worst. I asked if this was policy or just what he wanted. I had a wonderful experience. The customer service was great from start to finish. The staff was friendly and attentive. I was especially impressed with how clean the entire facility was. It made the experience even more comfortable and welcoming. Walmart and restaurants are in proximity. The billing folio can be difficult to read. Make sure to review it before checking out. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this location to others.

Great Christmas destination vacation spot. Kids were on the go non stop from the time we got there. Room was good but with all the stuff you have to do there we didn't get to be in it much lol.... Gym area was one of the better set-ups I've been in at a hotel or resort of this type ( it's nice being able to get a decent set in on a trip without having to ho out of your way). Tomfoolerys was a blast but if they could have the kids would have stayed in the water park area from open to close. It really was just a wonderful stay.
