Customer Reviews
If you are looking for a comfortable home base in Juneau without diving into the deep end of the city’s hotel price pool, the Juneau Hotel is a respectable contender. Location wise, it sits about a mile from downtown. The walk along the water is genuinely pleasant, especially on a clear Southeast Alaska day. Just note the hotel is positioned right by the main intersection for the Douglas Island bridge. If your room faces the bridge, traffic noise is part of the ambient soundtrack, so light sleepers may want to request a different orientation. The rooms are where this property really delivers. They are spacious, clean, and outfitted with large full kitchens, which is a major plus for longer stays or anyone tired of restaurant hopping every meal. If you can snag a third-floor room, the high
I was there in winter, not a whole lot going on in town around Christmas but these guys were open and have a beautiful historic hotel. Shout out to the front desk (can’t remember name, but worked evening 12/23) she was so nice and accommodating as my fight was delayed the next day. The sidewalks on the main road nearby are snowed in currently (December) but walkable with good shoes. Room was clean, would definitely stay again.
We were forced to stay at the Juneau Hotel due to weather delays and oversold flights, and this is now our second night here. We are paying $224 per night, yet the hotel has no hot water, making it impossible to shower.|The issue was reported promptly, and despite ample time to address it, the problem remains unresolved. At this price point, basic amenities—especially hot water—should be guaranteed. There has been no meaningful remediation or urgency shown.|Weather disruptions are understandable. Lack of basic hospitality and accountability is not. I would strongly advise travelers to consider alternative accommodations.
Despite telling the employee at reception that the bathroom sink drain was not opening multiple times, and receiving multiple "thanks for letting us know" responses, nothing was done to remedy the problem. I spent my stay with the sink unusable due to being full of standing water. If there are any maintenance issues, you are apparently on your own. Juneau has a lot of hotels for a town its size--no need to bother one this disrespectful and inattentive to basic functionality of its facilities Edit: the owner replying to this review three months later sure is indicative of the quality of their work.
Would have scored better but despite emailing and calling 24 hours before arriving the hotel transfer wasn’t booked so had to pay for our own taxi to and from the airport. Other than that, nice functional room and a pleasant walk to the centre of the town.
