Island Shores Inn

Fantastic location within easy walking distance of the downtown area. Having Mojos right across the street was a bonus—arguably some of the best tacos and arepas in St. Augustine. The rooms were well appointed and very comfortable, and the pricing was reasonable, especially for the holiday season. We appreciated the excellent 24-hour coffee bar conveniently located near our room. While there is no onsite office staff, the property’s use of technology made everything seamless, and the owner was extremely responsive by phone or text whenever we needed anything. We would absolutely stay here again.

We chose this location because if the proximity to the event venue we were attending. The price was good for the experience, given we stayed the weekend before Christmas. The room was small, but clean and efficient. Check in was smooth and we had no complaints. This property is located along a busy street and we could hear some of the traffic, and the outside is well lit, however there are only shutters inside, no drapes to block out all the light. So if you are a light sleeper or need a completely dark room to sleep you may want to pass on this one. Otherwise a great place to stay on a budget.

So close to so many things; yet still felt cozy and safe! The room is so cute and so CLEAN! I LOVED that there was a separate little recycle bin; I've never seen that anywhere else. Also the complimentary ear plugs, air purifier, safe, steamer, a Roku TV with automatic info deletion, a lap desk.. so many nice touches :) I would definitely stay again!

Great location and extremely clean rooms. Checkin delayed as place is working through a new concept. I read a review of uncomfortable beds and towels were bad. We were comfortable but bring ear plugs - it’s right on A-1-A! The pool area was very well done!

You can see what they were trying to accomplish, mid century, funky old Florida style. The room was clean and the bathroom, small but clean. The bed was comfortable, I would have appreciated a couple more pillows. Check in was a nightmare. They are supposed to text instructions with a lockbox number and code to retrieve the keys. The text never came, nor was it followed by a call. I was on hold for 40 minutes and never, never got through. Luckily, we were with another couple who replied to their text and they were able to get the info for our room, not really secure, but at least we got our keys.
