Hyland Inn

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay was genuinely unpleasant. The cleanliness of this hotel is completely unacceptable. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that basic upkeep is not a priority. The baseboards and flooring were visibly dirty, with grime and buildup along the edges (see photos). Even worse, the door frames and trim had what appear to be rust stains, splatter marks, and old residue, which is honestly disturbing in a place that’s supposed to be cleaned between guests. This isn’t about minor wear and tear—this is about poor sanitation and lack of attention to detail. When you’re paying to stay somewhere, you expect at least a clean environment. I did not feel comfortable here. I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless cleanliness improves significantly

I was in Long Beach for a night between boat and train. The reviews here are all old and my experience was very different than they indicate. I believe this motel may have new management and have been renovated. My room was basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. If I could give ZERO stars I would! Non existent customer service. Acted as if he was paying me to stay at his motel. Like me checking in was disturbing him. Anyhow all I said was are you OK ? Your seem so mad he said canceling your smoking!?? I even went to the side walk because he has signs no smoking in office. But I was on the side walk so he saw me on camera. Now I’m out of What at 1 am?? Now I’m a female looking for a safe place a 2 am. Very rude and unprofessional! DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OB MONEY!!!

This has been a quiet place for pre cruise. We have a double king room upstairs. The room is huge! We have not had any issues and plan to Uber to port.
