Hyatt Place Raleigh-Durham Airport

Reserved this hotel for front end and back end stayovers to use Raleigh Airport. After experiencing multiple issues on both stay nights we reached out to manager, Alexander Smith. It became clear why this property sucks. We arrived to a front desk attendant who hardly spoke and consistently gave one word responses. Then when we asked about a 5:30am shuttle, he wrote us down on the wrong day. Of course we didn’t know this until the morning employee told us we weren’t in the list. However, this employee was nice and shuttled us to airport, leaving the front desk unattended during this time. Red Flag, but he did make things good for us. Positive: The hotel was clean, the staff was very nice and we didn't have to wait for our airport shuttle. Negative: The bathroom was set up in a way that the towels were stored in the shower and the bathroom was so small that we couldn't step inside and shut the door without having to lean against the toilet. The airplanes flying right overhead were very loud, too.

I stay at the Hyatt due to the reasonable rates, especially for World of Hyatt members. This property is very convenient to the airport and the highways. The room was clean, however, room amenities could be better. There wasn't a microwave. It isn't set up for easily charging my devices. The coffee maker didn't heat in the first room I stayed. The outlets didn't work well in the second room. The bathtub grab bar was loose and hazardous. The personnel need to be trained in customer service. I didn't feel like a welcome guest. I can't say enough how disappointed I was in the non-existent "shuttle service." I talked to the staff several times to make sure they knew I needed shuttle service to and from my flights. I was in town on business, staying one night near the airport. The room itself was fine and the hotel was about what you would expect for a $150/night airport hotel. My main gripe is the overall service level by the front office staff. - The coffee shop had no one staffing it, When I found one staff member and asked about getting a coffee, he said he wasn't able to do it. - When I came to check in, I was checking in on a guaranteed rate reservation done by a travel agency on my behalf and the staff was unable to link the credit card on file with their central sales office.The front The desk person said it was their second day and couldn't figure it out even when speaking to the travel agent that I had. Rooms were very dirty. Toilet won't flush properly. Do check the comforter they provide. The ones in our room were very dirty. They didn't have clean ones anywhere in the hotel as backup so we were just given couple more white sheets as backup. We requested cleaning service and the sheets to be changed for next day but they didn't send anyone to even change the sheets. The AGM Keeshan was however very friendly and helpful. She changed our room and tried to do everything she could to make our stay pleasant. She did say they recently acquired this hotel and it needs a lot of maintenance and upkeep. She even offered us a partial refund for our stay and for all the inconvenience we had to go through but it is what it is. They didn't have eggs for breakfast during the 2 days we stayed in. One d
