Hyatt Place Pittsburgh Airport / Robinson Mall

The hotel in general is more rundown than expected. The room we stayed in had been given a face-lift to a point but still needs attention for what I would say is the Hyatt Place standard that I have come to know. The bathroom grout and cauking was quite discolored. Probably from not great cleaning practices. The couch in the room had discoloration all over the cushions, so I didn't want to sit on it at all. The carpet in the hallway is fraying all over the place at every seam. While it is a big process to replace the carpet better cleaning staff could take action in other ways to minimize the fraying. Just using scissors to trim the long fraying pieces would at least make it look better. There were random forks in the hallway and the hallway and elevators had clearly not been vacuumed that

Positive: The staff is wonderful. The room was lovely, comfortable bed, nice shower, fridge, microwave. Altogether lovely! Negative: It was in sort of an odd place at the back of a mall but the parking was good.

Overall experience was good for my family. Hotel and rooms are dated but our room was clean. Service was friendly from all staff we encountered.

Overnight visit near the airport. Got in early evening, so it was a quick stay but online check-in was easy. Front desk staff was very pleasant when I arrived and finished off my room check-in. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bed was perfect. Bathroom was clean and shower was roomy. Plenty of spots to grab something to eat around the hotel and only about a 7 minute ride to the airport for my flight.

As others have noted the quality of this hotel is abysmal. The room upon entering reeked of fake overly perfumed cleaner. As a migraine sufferer this was so much of an issue I ended up booking a room at a nearby hotel leaving my husband to tough it out in this one. I returned the next day and luckily the smell had subsided but I quickly realized why it was so prominent. The room itself had not been cleaned properly. There is mold in the shower, the floors were not very clean and the icing on the cake is that there was a box of empty beer bottles in the cabinet. The pillows were terrible, everything felt dingy and had a film to it. Had this not been the wedding party’s choice of hotel and had it not been late when we got back from the wedding I would have insisted we moved back to the nicer
