Hyatt Place Madison/Downtown

In town for a game on campus. It was a pretty decent experience. The location was close enough where walking was excellent. The hotel itself is pretty good. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy, although the mattresses were definitely sagging towards the middle, so it made for some awkward sleep. Breakfast was okay. Very busy on weekend mornings but stocked well enough. Parking was $20/night and included on the final bill. Can’t complain there either. Overall a decent hotel stay and I’ll look here for staying again if I’m ever near the UW campus area.

Staff went above and beyond over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend! It never once felt like it was a holiday and that we were keeping people from their families. ||Rooms are a really nice size, clean and comfortable - we had plenty of room to spread out and not feel like we were always on top of each other. Location is great for downtown and University activities. Paid lot and street parking are both readily available. Breakfast is good, with lots of room to sit and relax. Pool and workout room looked nice.||Due to the impending snow storm we decided to leave early, Amy (assistant manager) was exceptionally accommodating, kind and professional. She, and the evening desk staff made sure that our only concern was getting on the road safely. ||Would definitely recommend.

We stayed 2 nights at the Hyatt for my son's surgery at UW children's. The staff was very friendly, super helpful during breakfast. Matteo especially had good jokes 😂 The rooms were clean and quiet. Breakfast was practically a feast and included eggs, bacon, French toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, milk and oat milk, coffee, juice. It's literally down the street from the capital building so it was a nice little walk to the capital. There's a grocery store within a block or two if you need snacks. There's coffee shops and restaurants nearby. It's a 10 minute drive from UW. It was convenient for us and a pleasant experience in a stressful situation.

I don’t always go out of my way to leave a long review but this hotel deserves more than five stars. The staff is wonderful, from the college students at the front desk to the managers on duty, everyone is just happy to be there. I forgot my AirPods on the bed because they were white and blended with the bedsheets and I called to report them lost. They went out of their way to search for it and then mailed it to me right away. The experience was already a positive one before this happened, but I am so happy that our group (Galena Crew) stayed here. If we ever have a show in Madison again, we know EXACTLY where to go now!
