Hyatt Place Evansville / Downtown

They are the best! They are fabulous to work with for a group and went above and beyond to be accommodating. The rooms are nice, the food is a step above the rest, and every staff member encountered was kind, friendly, and helpful, regardless of how busy they were. The hotel is in a nice location within walking distance to many restaurants and the riverwalk. The hotel itself has a few menu items, which we enjoyed when we needed a quick bite to eat.

Positive: Honestly nothing was good about it other than the location. Negative: The room was not as clean as I expected. There were ants in the bathroom and dust everywhere. The TV wouldn't work, which I did report but did not make a big deal out of since we returned back to the room late after a concert.

I had stayed here in 2022 and returned this month on my way South. It was great as usual. The parking lot is attached and is secure. Parking is free. The front desk folks were very nice and helpful. There is a bar.restaurant there but I ate out. Breakfast is included and was great as I was able to get oatmeal, a healthy choice. The room was spacious and seemed to be like a suite. The heat did not blow on me while I slept. It was clean in the room and the lobby area. I used the fitness center and it was good as well. This is a great choice and near the Ohio River.

Not so good: There was a used soap in our shower with hairs on it and 2/4 pillows had makeup on it so the rooms probably wasn’t cleaned fully. But the rest of the hotel and common areas were clean. Complimentary breakfast wasn’t too great, I’d rather pay less for the room and have breakfast not included. We only stayed 3 nights and didn’t go back to breakfast after the first day. Good: Great customer service and very comfortable sized rooms with lots of space and nice furniture. The bed mattress was very soft but we prefer that. We’ve traveled the world and stayed at many hotels and this was overall very nice. I would recommend staying here.

On 10/11 I tried to check into my reserved room at 4 pm (check in begins at 3 pm). I was told there were no rooms. This confused me so I proceeded to ask if check in did begin at 3 and if she is talking about my reservation. She finally explained a little more and said the room hadn’t been cleaned yet and I would have to wait 30 minutes to access the room I reserved. This was really strange to me and the employee was horrible at being understanding and accommodating to all the guests that I observed her speak to after me as well. The service that day was horrible. After 50 minutes of waiting to get to my reserved room, I was able to check in (other staff I witnessed on Sunday did an excellent job in informing people about the amenities which she did not do when she checked me in).
