Holiday Inn Express Evansville - West by IHG

Wonderful sleep! Holy cow! Like sleeping in cloud! I needed that! First impression of the bathroom reminded me of a hospital but that soon faded. The shower headed was a dream come true! 🤩 The room was a little cramped (there’s 4 in my family) but it was comfortable and had lots of storage. Once everything was put away it was fine. The breakfast area was also cramped. The layout is very poor designed. There was plenty of hot food and the coffee was ok. Overall this was a great weekend. I would definitely stay here again! The room was nice and big and the TV was large. Only one chair for sitting, a small sofa bench was also in the room. Closet was big but not oversized for 2 people for two days of dressy clothing. The lighting was very odd, switches turned on unlikely areas. The bedside lights were quite bright and no light switch for any bedroom light, all must be physically turned on and off. TV had a good clear picture but no paper info as to how to work the TV nor info on amenities the hotel offered--- not much info given out BUT got you checked in quickly !

Floors and walls are very thin. Leaning against the backboard of the bed can be heard in the next room. You can hear every step someone takes on the floor above you. Of course no one takes note of how their feet sound on the floor as they walk or don’t care and it makes for a very sleepless night. Plenty of places to eat around the area but if you’re looking for quiet, this is not your place. Also, the remote wasn’t even cleaned. All we want is a clean remote so we can sort of relax without grubby hand paws all over it. ☹️ This hotel also charged a 200$ fee on top of the regular rate for Valentine’s Day this year. I said I’d never stay here just for that reason, but business paid for my room, so I gave it a try. Hotel is clean. Website showed walk in showers but mine has a tub.

The staff was very polite and friendly, the hotel was very clean. It was perfectly located right across the parking lot from AMC & Logan's Roadhouse (logans offers a discount on your meal for your stay) the hotel breakfast was actually a breakfast, biscuits & gravy, eggs, omelet, cinnamon rolls, sausage, pancakes, yogurt, muffins & more. Would definitely stay at this location again and again.

Overall, it was a great stay! I booked this hotel at the last minute, and I had no problems at all with the rooms, the staff, etc. The room was extremely clean and sensible, and the staff was very kind and welcoming. The only downside that I experienced was the road noise. I know that most hotels are on the interstate, so the road noise is part of it. But I was awoken several times overnight by trucks loudly revving their engines on the adjacent road (the small road by the hotel; not the main highway nearby). I can't criticize the hotel too much for this, since it's out of their control, but I thought it was something that other travelers might want to be made aware of! It was a very nice hotel, though, and if I'm ever in the area again, I won't hesitate to stay here!
