Garner Hotel Evansville East by IHG

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Receptionist was kind and effective. Breakfast was very complete. Price was just fine. My wife and I were having a good time until someone knocked the door very hard at 8:30 am. It was very scary. We opened the door and an employee just said "you are fine." No, she did not apologized! Did she want to clean our room while we were there??? I respectfully suggest that employees should be better trained. We never had such an awful experience in any IHG hotel. I understand that it is a new hotel in that chain... But we will not go back to that hotel.

The hotel has been recently renovated and is bright, clean, and organized. The front desk personnel were all nice, cheerful, and pleasant to speak with. The full breakfast is wonderful and fresh perked coffee was delicious. Microwave and frig in each room. Everything was 10+, except the beds are too high for some elderly who need assistance. My mom travelled with me and that was our only complaint. The bed was too high for her, (she's 92) with some mobility issues. But other than that, this is the place we will stay when we travel to the area. Keep up the excellent customer service. We love it.

We came for a soccer tournament and usually I get 2 queen beds but got the King with a sofa sleeper and it was so much better. I loved that the bedroom had a door to close to give privacy & separate the bedroom from living room area. My daughter and her teammate shared the king bed and I took the sofa sleeper. Normally sofa sleepers have thin mattresses that aren't comfy but I slept great and thought the mattress was perfect! I wish the bedding was available in the room for the sofa sleeper and had to ask the front desk, but it wasn't an issue at all. Just a note so you make sure to ask for the bedding if staying here. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. I believed her name was Alisha at the front desk - she was amazing, very nice and was helpful with any questions. The breakfast

Positive: Loved that I got an early check in. I work nights, so when I was able to check in, I could go straight to sleep. It was very much appreciated Negative: Would love to see different breakfast options

Spacious King Size Room with sofa. Newly painted. There were some negatives however: LOUD elevators up and down all night, constant road noise from the expressway, and water noises. It would have benefited from some soundproofing when renovating.
